Presentation Summary: Jeffrey Hou is Professor and Chair of Landscape Architecture at the University of Washington. His work focuses on community design, public space and democracy, and cross-cultural placemaking. He is the editor of Insurgent Public Space: Guerrilla Urbanism and the Remaking of Contemporary Cities, which received the 2012 Places Book Award.
Presentation Summary: Urban commoning has become a worldwide phenomenon from Europe to Asia. What characterizes the emerging cases in Taipei and Hong Kong? How are they distinct or similar to cases elsewhere?
