We're here to help you choose your ideal Luxy Hair set! Here we answer some most frequently asked questions about how to choose the right weight of Luxy Hair extensions.
What exactly is offered in each set, and what is the difference between the three options?
All Luxy Hair extensions are sold in a full head set and are made of the same high quality grade 100% remy human hair. The only difference between each set is the weight. The higher the grams, the more hair that is attached to each weft. The individual strands themselves will remain consistent in thickness.
The following pieces will be included in each set:
• Our 120g set has a total of 9 pieces: 1 x 8” weft, 2 x 6” wefts, 2 x 4”wefts, 4 x 1” wefts
• Our 160g set has a total of 10 pieces: 10: 1 x 8” weft, 1 x 7" weft, 2 x 6” wefts, 2 x 4”wefts, 4 x 1” wefts
• Our 220g set has a total of 10 pieces: 10: 1 x 8” weft, 1 x 7" weft, 2 x 6” wefts, 2 x 4”wefts, 4 x 1” wefts
I’m not sure which grams is best for me - how do I choose between the 120g, 160g, and 220g set?
When choosing your ideal Luxy weight, it's important to opt for a set that best matches your hair type.
Our 120 gram set is specifically designed for those with a fine hair type and is great for adding length and some natural volume to your hair. This set comes with one less weft than our 160g and 220g sets.
Our 160 gram set is our most popular set and is ideal for those with a medium-thick hair type. Often times, it can also often be worn if you have finer hair and are looking to add more volume.
Our 220 gram set is our heaviest set and is catered for those who already have thick hair and are looking for that extra voluminous look.
The reason why it's so important to opt for a set that best matches your hair type is because it will help you achieve the most natural blend. For example, even if you have thick hair and don’t want to add any more volume, we still recommend to go for our 220g set because if you opt for a lighter weight, it may result in the extensions appearing “stringy” or unnatural in your hair. Alternatively, if you have thin hair but want to add a lot more volume, we recommend to go for our 120g or 160g set, otherwise opting for our 220g set may be too heavy for your hair, which can cause discomfort.
I have short hair. Which set should I pick?
For best results, we recommend that your hair be at least 6-7 inches in length (that’s around shoulder length). It is ideal to go for a heavier set when blending Luxies with short hair, to ensure that there is enough hair on each weft to work with and create a seamless blend. If you have fine hair, we recommend to go for the 160g set, otherwise, for medium to thick hair types, the 220g should be ideal.

What lengths do you offer?
All Luxy Hair extensions are offered in a standard 20 inch length.
If you are looking for a shorter length, you’re always welcome to have your Luxies cut or trimmed shorter by an experienced hair stylist since they are made of 100% remy human hair. If you decide to get them cut, we recommend having them already clipped into your hair during the haircut. I would also recommend coming up with a numbering system for the wefts, so that you know exactly where each weft is supposed to be clipped in for the future uses.
Alternatively, we do offer a limited edition 24 inch collection, which can be viewed here. Kindly note that most shades in this collection have now completely sold out and will no longer be re-stocked. If you do not see your ideal Luxy match, you’re welcome to opt for the next lightest option available and to have your Luxies custom-dyed a darker color by an experienced colorist. Do you offer curly or wavy hair extensions?
No, we do not offer pre-curled/waved hair extensions at this time.
Because Luxy Hair extensions are of Chinese origin, they naturally come straight. Since they are made of 100% remy human hair, however, they can be styled to curls or waves using hot tools to match your own hair’s texture.
