About Hair Extensions And Suitability

  • How do I know if I need a Bundle?

    16" Classic Volume Bundle

Our 16" Classic Volume Bundle is best suited for fine hair, mid-length hair, or short hair. This Bundle includes a full 9-piece set and a single 4-clip Volumizer weft totaling 180 grams.

    20" Classic Volume Bundle

Our 20" Classic Volume Bundle is best suited for short hair, very thick hair, or a blunt cut. This Bundle includes a full 10-piece set and a single 4-clip Volumizer weft totaling 265 grams.

    20" Seamless Volume Bundle

Our 20" Seamless Volume Bundle is best suited for short or thick hair, or a blunt cut. This Bundle includes a full 10-piece Seamless set and a single, Classic 4-clip Volumizer weft totaling 225 grams.

    20" Halo Volume Bundle

Our 20" Halo Volume Bundle is best suited for short or thick hair. This Bundle includes a Halo set and a single 4-clip Volumizer weft totaling 225 grams.

  • What is a Bundle?

A Bundle consists of a full Luxy Hair set with a Volumizer weft for maximum volume. It's best suited for short hair, a blunt cut, or very thick hair.

  • Will my Bundle be Classic or Seamless?

Majority of Bundles will come with a full Luxy Hair set and Volumizer weft from the same collection (Classic or Seamless). This means that if you order a 20" Classic Bundle, you will receive a Classic full Luxy Hair set + a Classic Volumizer weft. Similarly, if you order a 20" Seamless Bundle, you will receive a Seamless full Luxy hair set + a Seamless Volumizer weft.

The only exceptions are the following shades in the 20" Seamless Bundles:

    • Ash Blonde
    • Dirty Blonde
    • Chestnut Brown
    • Chocolate Brown
    • Mocha Brown
    • Off Black
    • Ombre Chestnut
    • Ombre Blonde

This simply means that you will instead receive a: Seamless full Luxy Hair set + a Classic Volumizer weft.

Both our Seamless and Classic collections can be mixed together just fine. They will not feel any different in your hair, and it will not be noticeable.

  • How do I apply a Luxy Hair Bundle?

    Classic Bundle

Stack the Volumizer weft on top of the 4-clip weft from your full set. It can be clipped in directly underneath the band. This means that you'll have double the thickness but will only need to clip in one weft still. See the video below.

    Halo Bundle

Section off the bottom half of your hair and clip in your 4-clip Volumizer weft at the roots. Then, apply your Halo hair extensions as normal.

  • Do Bundles come with a tester weft?
Yes, a tester weft will be included in all full Luxy Hair sets which is the larger box of the two that you'll receive. Please check the tester weft first to ensure the color is right for you before opening up the Volumizer weft box (the smaller one). The Volumizer wefts do not come with a tester weft.

  • What if I want a shorter/longer length?

At this time, Luxy Hair extensions are available in our new 16" Classic collection, as well as our standard 20" Classic and Seamless collections. We also offer a longer length in our 24" Seamless Blonde Balayage set. To see what these lengths will look like on you, click here. Since Luxies are made of 100% remy human hair, however, they can be cut or trimmed to any desired length by an experienced hair stylist if you are interested in a shorter length.

We're always open to feedback! Should you be interested in a specific length that we don't currently carry, kindly send us an email at info@luxyhair.com and we'll be happy to share your suggestion with our Product Development team for future consideration.

  • What if you don't have my hair color?

So, you have a beautiful and unique hair color that doesn't quite match any of the shades we offer. No stress! Luxy Hair extensions are made of 100% remy human hair and can, therefore, be dyed a darker color or toned by a professional hair colorist. For some dyeing do's and dont's and examples of our customers who had their Luxies dyed/toned, please click here.

We are, however, always open to feedback! Should you be interested in a color, length or other option for hair extensions that we don't currently carry, kindly send us an email at info@luxyhair.com, and we'll be happy to share your suggestion with our Product Development team for future consideration.

If you have a specific color in mind, please be sure to include a reference photo or a picture of your hair in natural lighting (without any edits) where we can see it from root to ends. We look forward to hearing from you.

  • Are Luxy Hair extensions single drawn and what does that mean?

Yes, Luxy Hair extensions are made from single drawn human hair. This is one of the most natural-looking types of extensions as it mimics your natural hair the best. Single drawn hair has a standard hair ratio where the hair contains a combination of varied hair lengths and does not undergo an additional sorting process to pick out shorter hairs. The hair is thick at the top and tapers off at the bottom, similar to how natural hair grows.

  • Can I use purple shampoo on my extensions?

Although many of our customers have used color depositing shampoos/conditioners/products with much success, we always recommend having a professional hair colorist who has had experience with extensions custom tone your Luxies using a professional toner.

Please keep in mind that purple shampoo will balance out the golden undertones from the Ash Blonde and Bleach Blonde shades and make it cooler, however, depending on your tone of blonde, this may not be the best alternative to making your extensions match better to your hair color. Since there are many different variations of cool-toned blonde shades, this is why we recommend having your set professionally toned to achieve a more seamless match.

Also, we don’t recommend purple shampooing the Dirty Blonde shade as it will most likely not create a fully cool-toned medium blonde color. Instead, it may remove some of the brassiness. If you are looking for a dramatic difference, we recommend having this shade professionally toned.

  • Can I color, tone, or bleach my hair extensions?

So, you have a beautiful and unique hair color that doesn't quite match any of the shades we offer. No stress! Luxy Hair extensions are made of 100% remy human hair and can, therefore, be dyed a darker color or toned by a professional hair colorist.

So what does remy human hair mean?

Remy hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped, like in most other non-remy hair extensions. Preserving the hairs’ cuticles and aligning them in a unidirectional fashion creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance. This process ensures that the hair remains super soft, shiny, silky and completely tangle-free throughout its lifetime.

Luxy Hair extensions use only the finest quality of remy human hair, which means that the hair has been carefully sorted after collecting from the hair donor to ensure all the cuticles are of the same length. It is by far the best quality of clip in human hair extensions on the market because of the care that is required and the time it takes to sort the hair so meticulously. Click here to see how and where our products are made.

What's the best way to color my extensions?

Being super careful with how your hair extensions are dyed is very important to ensuring the quality of your set is preserved. Naturally, dyeing or toning hair extensions can alter the quality of the set slightly, however, we'll provide you with the most important do's and don't's of dyeing your extensions to ensure your set lives a long and healthy life.

Kindly note, since our Seamless extensions are made with silicone at the base to ensure that they are thin and flat, this material does not take to dye. If you dye your Seamless extensions, the silicone strip will remain its original color after dyeing. Alternatively, our Classic extensions have a fabric base which can be dyed as it will take to the color.

    Do's

    • Always do a test strand prior to dyeing the full set
To do this, mix some of the color and apply it to a small section on one of the one-clip wefts. This will ensure you're satisfied with the results before moving on to the full set. If you don't like the result, you can then make adjustments to the formula or processing time and test it again.

    • Always have a professional hair colorist work on your extensions
Ideally, have someone who has had previous experience working with clip-in hair extensions to ensure the color goes as intended. We always recommend using professional-quality brands for the best results.

    • Pre-wash with sulfate & alcohol-free shampoo before coloring
Luxy Hair extensions come pre-conditioned and this silky coating needs to be removed in order for the color to absorb evenly. Plug your sink and fill it up with lukewarm water. Then, add 2-3 dollops of shampoo into the water, and swish the product around in the water so it's nice and soapy. We recommend washing your hair extensions one weft at a time (1-clip wefts can be collected into one bundle). Hold the weft with one hand at the top, submerge it into the water, and gently wash the hair. Avoid rubbing and be very careful to not tangle the hair. Once you are done, air-dry your Luxies and then you are ready for the color application!

    • Opt for a lighter set of extensions to dye darker
Instead of getting a dark set of extensions to lift/highlight to a lighter shade, we recommend that you select a lighter shade of extensions and deposit a darker dye. Similarly, if you have highlights, we recommend going for a shade that matches the lightest highlight in your hair and having a professional hair colorist add in lowlights to your set.

    • Always use a semi or demi-permanent color and a low volume developer
These dyes are the least invasive and will achieve the same color effect without damaging your extensions. We recommend using a 10 volume developer as it will only deposit color and not lift the hair which can change its integrity.

    • Always apply the color to both sides of the weft and in one direction
Doing this will ensure thorough saturation and that the result is even and not patchy. Remember, it's always better to use more color than far too little. When applying the color, only apply it in a downwards direction. Start from the base of the weft moving downwards towards the ends, following the natural fall of the hair. Applying the color upwards can damage your extensions, and will likely leave them frizzy and tangled.

    • Maintain a moisturizing care schedule
It's always important to keep the hair moisturized, however, color-treated hair will need extra care. We recommend doing a sulfate-free deep conditioning treatment on the extensions after dyeing to ensure that any lost moisture and nourishment is added back into the hair. If possible, leave this on overnight for the best results. We also recommend deep conditioning your Luxies bi-weekly (or as needed) and using products that are specifically formulated for dry and damaged hair, as they will help keep the strands healthy and nourished. Also, look for products that add moisture to the hair like argan oil, coconut oil, castor oil and so on.

      Don't's

        • Dye the entire set altogether
This can cause tangling and it also means that you have less control over the dye deposit. Dye one weft at a time so you have complete control over the outcome.

        • Use any bleach (this includes highlights)
We do not recommend bleaching your Luxies as they have already been dyed at our manufacture, and forcing bleach on hair that has already been dyed can be difficult. Bleaching is a damaging process that will alter the quality and integrity of your set. Increasing the concentration of bleach or leaving it in longer to soak will only lead to damaged hair.

        • Use products that contain sulfates or alcohol
These ingredients strip the hair of its natural oils and will affect their integrity. This, in turn, makes the hair drier and more prone to tangling or matting. Another downside is that these products will fade your hair color quicker. Always be sure to check the ingredient listing on the back of the product to ensure you don’t see the words: SLS, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Alcohol denat, Ethanol, SD alcohol 40, Propanol, Isopropyl, and Propyl.

        • Try to dye them yourself at home or use over-the-counter dyes/toners
Taking the extra step to have a professional work on your extensions will be a worthwhile investment. A boxed hair dye from a drugstore won't give you the option to choose the developer and that is exactly what you don't want. The ratio of peroxide to pigment requires a specific balance. Doing this incorrectly can very easily leave hair dry and damaged if not done correctly.

        • Over-wash them
We don't advice washing colored extensions often as this can strip the hair of its oils and will actually cause the hair color to fade faster. Keep in mind, lighter pastel colors will typically wash out a lot easier than a darker auburn shade.

        • Apply purple shampoo directly to the hair
This can create patchiness and tangling and because certain areas of hair will soak up more of the shampoo which will cause staining and patchiness. We always recommend having a professional hairstylist tone your Luxies with a professional toner to prevent any unwanted results. If you wanted to do it yourself with purple shampoo, we recommend testing a one-clip weft to see how ashy the result will be. Keep in mind purple shampoo won't give you a dramatic ashy color like a toner will if you are toning our Dirty Blonde shade for example. Can I return/exchange them if I'm not happy with the end result?

Kindly note, dyeing or toning your hair extensions may alter the structure of the hair, resulting in a lowered lifespan. Dyeing and toning Luxy Hair extensions is done at the customer's discretion. Although many of our customers have used these products with lots of success, we are not responsible and can not accept any returns or exchanges on hair extensions that have been treated with dye, toner, or any color depositing shampoos/conditioners/products. Also, we will be unable to provide an exchange or refund for sets that have been damaged due to bleaching

        • You prefer more volume at your roots
        • You plan to use them for ponytails or updos
        • You plan to dye the extensions (the fabric can be dyed)

Our Seamless extensions are a part of a new collection Luxy Hair launched in 2017. They're similar to our 160 gram Classic set, however, they have more hair attached to each weft making the full set slightly thicker. They are made with a thin silicone-based weft that is 50% thinner than our Classic fabric-stitched wefts.

      • Do hair extensions shed and tangle?

        Do clip-in hair extensions shed?

Just like your natural hair, extensions will shed. Shedding is a common occurrence with hair extensions and because they are made of human hair, you can expect some shedding throughout their lifespan. As you brush and style your Luxies, some fall-out may occur so don’t be surprised or worried when this happens. This, however, does not mean to reduce the amount you brush your extensions as you can minimize shedding in other ways. Keep in mind, extensions are more likely to shed when they are dry and brittle.

        Do they tangle?

Matting and tangling is a normal occurrence with not just your natural hair but with all types of hair extensions. This can happen due to a lack of constant brushing, weather, or dryness. A common reason why extensions tangle and get matted throughout the day is because of a combination of sweat, heat, and friction. Also, keep in mind that when human hair is constantly moving around it’s going to matt or ‘clump’ together in pieces.

If you aren’t brushing your hair consistently, you’re giving the hair the opportunity to matt and tangle. During the day, we generate heat at the nape of our neck and scalp, and often times we sweat back there too. Your sweat is salty, acidic and can dry out your hair extensions. When you add additional hair volume to this combination and constantly move your head throughout the day, tangling and matting will occur. Weather can also contribute to tangling, whether it be due to the wind, humidity or heat. Humidity will add a lot of moisture to the environment which will cause your hair to frizz up and tangle. Heat will do just the opposite as it will dry it out.

How do you prevent tangling and reduce shedding?

Thankfully, there are some simple ways to reduce shedding and ensure that your hair extensions remain smooth and tangle-free. To learn more, please click here.

      • Do you sell wigs?

We do not sell wigs at this time, however, Luxy Hair specializes in clip-in hair extensions, which is a safe and quick method to achieving longer and fuller hair without causing any damage to your natural hair.

      • Do you have any sample swatches?

We understand it can be difficult determining your perfect color match from a computer screen. Screens will vary slightly in color and you may think that you're a close match between both Dark Brown and Chocolate Brown. If only you could see the two colors in person to feel absolutely confident with your purchase!

We're now happy to offer up to two color sample swatches to our customers within the U.S. and Canada for a flat rate of $10 (shipping only). If you place an order for a sample swatch, you will receive a small lock of hair that is dyed perfectly to reflect the colors we offer in our full sets.

Kindly note, these swatches should be used for color comparison purposes only and are not offered in Classic or Seamless as the base of the weft is not included.

To interested customers who live internationally, kindly note that all Luxies come with a tester weft available in the bottom compartment of the box. This weft can be used to determine whether or not the shade is the right match for you. If it's not an ideal match, we offer 60-day returns and exchanges if the color doesn't match. We support you!

Also, we're happy to help you select your ideal Luxy match. Please send over some photos of your hair taken in natural lighting where we can see it fully to info@luxyhair.com, similar to the photo below.

Meanwhile, if you haven't already, we suggest to check out our Luxy Hair Color Guide for more information on choosing your perfect Luxy color.

      • What lengths do you offer, and what do they look like on?

Luxy Hair extensions are available in our new 16" Classic collection, as well as our standard 20" Classic & Seamless collections. We also offer a longer length in our 24" Seamless Blonde Balayage set.

Why do they look longer on some people and shorter on others?

Great question! This is because Luxy Hair extensions will appear different in length on every person, as we all have different torso lengths. If you have a longer torso or are quite tall, Luxies will appear shorter on you. If you are more petite or have a shorter torso, Luxies will appear longer on you.

How long will Luxy Hair extensions be on me?

In order to determine how long Luxies will be on you, we recommend measuring either 16 inches or 20 inches down from the top of your ear with a measuring tape, as most wefts will be applied around the crown of your head.

What if Luxy Hair extensions are too long on me?

Since Luxies are made of 100% remy human hair, they can be cut or trimmed to any desired length by an experienced hair stylist if you are interested in a shorter length. If you decide to get them cut, we recommend having them already clipped into your hair during the haircut. We also recommend coming up with a numbering system for the wefts, so that you know exactly where each weft is supposed to be clipped in for the future uses.

What if I want a longer length?

If you have medium blonde hair, you can opt for our exclusive 24" Seamless Blonde Balayage set. At this time, Luxy Hair does not offer a longer length collection, however, we are always open to feedback. Should you be interested in a length, color, or other option for hair extensions that we don't currently carry, kindly send us an email at info@luxyhair.com, and we'll be happy to keep your suggestion in mind for future product considerations.

      • Luxy Hair Color Guide: How do I choose the right color of hair extensions?

Luxy Hair extensions are offered in 25 beautiful colors ranging from Jet Black to Platinum Blonde, and from Ombre to Balayage. Our extensions are made with a multi-tonal adapt coloring system, which means that there are subtle highlights and lowlights, lighter strands and darker strands throughout each set. This gives the shades movement, dimension, and depth. It also ensures that the extensions blend with your natural hair even if your hair color is a few shades off.

Below is a comparison guide that shows the level and undertone of each of our Luxy Hair colors. It also offers a general comparison to popular hair dyes on the market.

Disclaimer: We do not guarantee an exact match when dyeing your hair to match your Luxies. Applying a certain hair dye can yield different results depending on the starting color of someone's hair (and other factors). We recommend having your hair dyed by a professional. If, however, you choose to do it yourself, a test strand is always recommended.

      • How do I choose the right color of Balayage extensions?

        What is Balayage?

Balayage means to "paint" or "sweep"— it's a dying process that results in natural-looking highlights. There is no clear fade line between the darker and lighter colors like with our Ombre shades. As well, darker pieces are left at the bottom to give the hair that extra depth and dimension.

Do I need to have Balayage or highlights in my hair?

No, your hair can be a solid shade! Balayage extensions are a damage-free way to add sun-kissed dimension to your hair.

How do I match my hair to the right shade?

In order for your Luxy Hair 180g Seamless Balayage extensions to blend, we recommend ensuring that your hair matches the root color of the extensions. To determine the right match for you, please read below.

A kind reminder that we have an exclusive 24" Blonde Balayage set!

          Have Questions?

I have Ombre/highlights in my hair. Can I still wear Balayage?

Yes. Balayage extensions will blend even if you have Ombre or highlights in your hair. If you have Ombre, the Balayage extensions will add more color and dimension higher up. If you have highlights, the Balayage extensions will add more color towards the ends.

What if I have short hair?

Our Seamless Balayage Luxies will work for those with a fine hair type and a small amount of hair. For best results, your hair should be about 6-7 inches in length for the extensions to blend naturally (that's about shoulder length). For those with a blunt/lob haircut or an average-thick hair type, you will need to add a Volumizer Weft to your full set. Alternatively, you can opt for a solid colored 220g Classic set.

How far down the weft do the Balayage highlights start?

The Balayage highlights start 6 inches from the base of the weft.

          What if I want a shorter/longer length?

At this time, the Balayage shades come in 20 inches, however, we do offer a longer length in our 24" Seamless Blonde Balayage set.

        • How do I choose the right color of Ombre extensions?

          What is Ombre?

Ombré is a French word, which means "shadow"—it's a process that dyes the hair in a gradation from dark to light. The outcome is usually darker hair from the roots to the mid-shaft and a transition to a lighter color from the mid-shaft through to the ends. With Ombré, there is a noticeable color blocking from dark to light, with a smooth transition in between. This technique is meant to look like the hair has been dip-dyed.

How do I match my hair to the right shade?

In order for your Luxy Hair Ombre extensions to blend, we recommend ensuring that your hair matches the root color of the extensions. To determine the right match for you, please read below.

Or try mixing both shades together!

This gives you the ability to customize the look you’re trying to achieve. This creates more of a highlighted, balayage effect, especially once the different layers of extensions are curled and twisted together. Luxy Hair extensions are dyed with a multi-tonal adapt coloring system, which means that there are subtle highlights and lowlights, lighter strands and darker strands throughout each set. This produces a multi-dimensional look, making them blend seamlessly together and effortless to layer.

Layering Ombre Chestnut with Ombre Blonde works beautifully. Ombre Chestnut is a combination of deep browns, and lighter golden browns, which blend seamlessly with Ombre Blonde which features red, brown and golden undertones. The key when layering extensions is to ensure the sets are in the same color family and overlap in undertones for a perfect blend.

            FAQ

I have a solid hair color. Can I still wear Ombre?

Yes, your hair can be a solid shade! Ombre extensions are a damage-free way to add brightness to your hair color.

Will it blend if I have short hair?

Yes - we recommend that your hair is at least 9 inches or shorter and that your hair color is a solid shade from root to end. This is because the transition of the Ombre starts 9 inches down the length of each weft. If you have lighter pieces, the extensions will be noticeable and hard to blend. To learn about which weight set to opt for, click here.

Will it blend if I have thick and long hair?

Yes - our Ombre extensions will look like subtle highlights in your hair instead of a noticeable color blocking at the ends. We encourage you to opt for the 220g Classic set and a Volumizer Weft if you have thick and long hair.

How far down the weft does the Ombre start?

The Ombre transition starts 9 inches from the base of the weft.

This is because the transition of the Ombre starts 9 inches down the length of each weft. If you have lighter pieces, the extensions will be noticeable and hard to blend.

            • I have Ombre/highlights in my hair. Can I still wear Balayage?

Yes. Balayage extensions will blend even if you have Ombre or highlights in your hair. If you have Ombre, the Balayage extensions will add more color and dimension higher up. If you have highlights, the Balayage extensions will add more color towards the ends.

All Luxy Hair extensions come with a sample weft, therefore, you can take out the weft and hold it up against your hair to see if you’re happy with the blend. If you feel it’s not a good fit, we’ll be happy to accept your package back for a return or exchange.

            • Will Balayage extensions work, even if my hair isn’t balayage?

Yes. Clip-in extensions are a great way to experiment with color, without the full-time commitment or damage to your natural hair. In order for the extensions to blend, we recommend ensuring that your hair matches the root color of the extensions.

            • What collection are the Balayage extensions offered in?

            • What does Remy mean?

Remy hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped, like in most other non-remy hair extensions. Preserving the hairs’ cuticles and aligning them in a unidirectional fashion creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance. This process ensures that the hair remains super soft, shiny, silky and completely tangle-free throughout its lifetime.

Clip-in Luxy Hair extensions use only the finest quality of remy human hair, which means that the hair has been carefully sorted after collecting from the hair donor to ensure all the cuticles are of the same length. It is by far the best quality of clip in human hair extensions on the market because of the care that is required and the time it takes to sort the hair so meticulously.

            • Do hair extensions work for thin hair?

            • Can clip-in hair extensions damage your hair?

No, clip-in hair extensions are a very safe way to achieve longer and fuller hair, as it’s a temporary solution that is applied and removed daily from your hair.

            • What hair extensions are best for your hair?

Clip-in hair extensions are best for your hair, as it is a temporary solution to longer and fuller hair. The clips are applied to the roots of your hair and do not cause any damage or hinder hair growth during wear, unlike other hair extension alternatives.

            • I have short hair. Which set should I pick?

Clip-in hair extensions are a great resource for short-haired ladies who either got a haircut they regret, have difficulty growing out their own natural hair, or just want to have the option to rock both long and short hair whenever they want.

Halo extensions on the other hand, are best for those who have below shoulder length hair and have a thin or medium hair type. We do not recommend the Halo extensions for those with short hair as you will need more wefts and hair to create a seamless blend. You can definitely wear the Halo in addition to a full set of clip-in Luxy Hair extensions (180g Seamless or 220g Classic).

How long should my hair be?

We recommend for your hair to be at least 6-7 inches (this is around shoulder length) in order for clip-in hair extensions to blend naturally. If your hair is any shorter, you may experience some trouble with hiding the wefts in your hair.

So, which set should I pick?

Which set you opt for will depend on if you are looking for volume or volume and length.

Generally speaking, we always recommend opting for one of our heavier sets. Why? This will help ensure that there are enough wefts and hair to create a seamless and natural transition where your real hair ends and the extensions begin. Otherwise, opting for a set too lightweight will result in the extensions appearing stringy or unnatural looking – like below. This is, arguably, every girl's nightmare.

              Volume vs Volume & Length

              Volume

With Off Black Luxy Hair extensions

              Volume & Length

If you have fine hair (both in strands and in amount) you should opt for:

With Blonde Balayage Luxy Hair extensions

With Off Black Balayage Luxy Hair extensions

If you have medium to thick hair (this includes those who have fine hair strands but a lot of them) you should opt for:

With Jet Black Luxy Hair extensions

If you have a lob or blunt haircut, you should opt for:

With Chestnut Brown Luxy Hair extensions

              With
              Ombre Chestnut Luxy Hair extensions

If you have a lot of hair

With Dirty Blonde Luxy Hair extensions

How do I blend them with my short hair?

Naturally, those with short hair will have to put in a bit more work in order to have their extensions blend in naturally than say, someone with long hair who is simply looking for volume over length. A big misconception a lot of our short-haired customers have is that they can simply clip in their Luxies straight out of the box and it will look natural. While some ladies can pull this off, we typically have to remind our short-haired customers that they will have to put in a bit of work to ensure their extensions look as natural as possible.

              • What is the purpose of the tester weft?
We understand that it can be hard determining your perfect Luxy color match from a computer screen. It looks like you're Chocolate Brown overall, but in some photos you think Chestnut Brown may be a better match. Wait—Dark Brown? That may also blend, too! Who knows, maybe you're Dirty Blonde after all.

Clip-in hair extensions are an investment for many people, and we want your purchase to be risk-free and anxiety-free. This is why we designed our packaging to be divided up into two compartments. One of the compartments holding your main set of extensions, and the other compartment holding your tester weft.

                What is a tester weft?

We'll break down what the tester weft is in a few digestible points.

                • The tester weft is located in the bottom compartment of the rectangular box or the top compartment of the circular box. You can take out this piece to determine if the color is a good match.
                • Your tester weft will be either a 2 or 3 clip weft.
                • This tester weft is part of the full head set. It is the 9th or 10th weft (depending on the weight you purchase) to your set.
                • Your tester weft should be used for color and texture comparison purposes only.

What do I do with the tester weft?

                • Please open this bottom compartment of the box first, prior to opening the main compartment.
                • Unravel the tester weft from it's hair netting.
                • Hold the card and weft up against your hair in natural lighting to determine if the shade is the right match for you.
                • If it's the right match, you may open the main compartment of the box and enjoy your Luxies!
                • If it's not a good match, please wrap the tester weft back in its hair netting and place it back in the bottom compartment of the box. Then, email our support team at info@luxyhair.com to initiate a return or exchange (within 60 days of purchase).

What should I not do with the tester weft?

                • Please do not remove the tester weft from the golden security tie and the card it is attached to.
                • Please do not clip-in the weft to your hair, only hold it up against it. This is because hair extensions are a hygienic product, and since this weft is part of the full head set, if you do not wish to keep the set it will be sold to another customer.
                • Please do not tamper with the tester weft in any way. This includes dyeing, toning, cutting, curling, straightening, and washing.

What is your return and exchange policy?

We are happy to accept all packages back for a return or exchange within 60 days of purchase as long as the main compartment of the box has not been opened or tampered with, and the tester weft is still in its original condition. For more information, click here.

              • Are Seamless hair extensions water resistant?

Yes, Seamless extensions are water resistant. However, we recommend ensuring your extensions don’t come into contact with water for longer than 20 to 30 minutes, like during washing. This is because, over time, water may seep into the base cavities of the silicone weft band. This can make the drying process difficult since silicone is not as breathable as having a fabric base (as is the case with our Classic Collection).

Similar to our Classic Collection, we recommend you avoid swimming or showering with the extensions clipped in to prevent unnecessary damage and tangling with your own hair.
